The 2023-2024 Annual Report from the Office for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning (ATL) at the University of Rhode Island showcases a year of innovative programming and impactful professional development experiences for the university’s instructional community. Expanded Reach: ATL served 273 instructors through Faculty Development programming and supported 301 instructors with 5,619 classroom assessments through the Academic Testing Center.

Innovative Programs: The office launched several new initiatives, including the inaugural Innovative Education Conference, a Summer Institute focused on integrating AI into courses, and an Instructor Appreciation Luncheon.

Comprehensive Support: ATL’s four teams – Academic Testing Center, Faculty Development, Online Education & Instructional Design, and Student Learning Outcomes Assessment – provided wide-ranging support, enhancing teaching effectiveness across all modalities.
