2024 – 2025 Annual Report

The 2024-2025 Annual Report from the Office for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning (ATL) at the University of Rhode Island evidences a year of pioneering new programming and relevant professional development opportunities and experiences for the university’s instructional community. This comprehensive report seeks to bring all interested stakeholders on our journey to evidence impacts made, goals accomplished, and progress captured during the 2024-2025 academic year.
Accomplishments include:
• Impact at Scale: Our instructional community benefited from ATL’s 57 professional development opportunities, 2000+ combined consultations and 6000+ proctored exams, engaging every URI college.
• Cornerstone Programs: This year ATL hosted its 2nd Annual Innovative Education Conference, Strategies & Tools for New Full-Time and Part-Time Faculty, and Graduate Students, our 1st Fall Symposium focused on AI in the Classroom, our 2nd Annual Summer Institute on Blended Teaching, and our 2nd Annual Instructor Appreciation Luncheon. Also, 252 individual faculty members received student thank you notes through ATL’s Thank an Instructor initiative, which was an increase over the inaugural year of the program.
• Strengthened Support: ATL’s teams – Academic Testing Center, Faculty Development, Online Education & Instructional Design, and Student Learning Outcomes Assessment – provided wide-ranging support, enhancing teaching effectiveness across all modalities.
