The Rhode Island Food Center is a resource center where members of the Rhode Island food system can seek answers, find partners, create innovations, and educate consumers. Supported by an advisory board, the Center is a program of URI’s College of the Environment and Life Sciences (CELS), created in partnership with Dan Levinson of Main Street Resources, the URI College of Business, and the URI Business Engagement Center.
The Food Center will serve as a place where farmers, growers, producers, distributors, servers, retailers, supporters, and other pioneers can easily access URI’s agricultural resources, wider food expertise, researchers, students, and business support programs. The Center will provide URI students with unique opportunities to connect with industry and get practical experience in the food sector.
The Rhode Island Food Center at URI is set to open our doors in 2018.
