Lab Director

Dr. Ryan Chapman has a diversity of engineering and clinical experiences that drive his lab’s work. He combines electrical engineering and data science principles (sensor design/implementation, ML/AI) with deep clinical needs to develop high value, engineering-driven solutions for challenging healthcare problems. His research focus on improving pathologic musculoskeletal biomechanics spans several populations including orthopaedics, athletics, obstetrics, and soldiers. Outside of research, Dr. Chapman is passionate about developing new biomechanics curricula, increasing access to STEM disciplines for typically marginalized populations, and spending time with his family.

Katelyn Lyons is completing the Accelerated Bachelors to Masters Program in Kinesiology. Her research interests focus is on using wearable sensors to evaluate changes in the biomechanics of the lower extremities throughout pregnancy.
