Kaila Carroll is a proud University of Rhode Island alumna (Go Rams!) with a BA in Psychology and a BS in Criminal Justice. She began her journey as a Joint Admissions Agreement student at Community College of Rhode Island and completed her MA at Rhode Island College. Her thesis analyzed social media cancel culture, labeling, and the presence of restorative justice in this emerging forum.
During her senior year, Kaila participated in an internship at the Rhode Island Men’s Maximum-security Prison, working for the Youthful Offenders Project, helping 18-25-year-old violent offenders decrease their violent behavior within the prison. After graduation, Kaila worked as a counselor in the Donald Wyatt Detention Center before moving to the RIDOC men’s minimum and medium security prisons working as a substance abuse clinician helping her clients with substance abuse and criminal thinking patterns.
