The Biodex machine is a state of the art device used to determine the muscular strength, endurance, and power that an individual can generate.  This is an incredible tool used by clinicians for return to play protocols, most commonly with individuals with an ACL injury. Though it is mostly used to test the strength of the knee joint, it can also be used on many more joints in the body, including the elbow, shoulder, ankle, and more.
