What to Expect

Ceremony Format

  • Attending graduates will be seated outdoors in Meade Stadium, in limited groups, following public health guidelines.
  • After the ceremony speaking program, each student’s name will be called, and each graduate will cross the stage and have professional photos taken. Graduates will then return to their seats.
  • The expected time for each ceremony will range between 1 – 2.5 hours, depending on the number of graduates participating in the ceremony.
  • Visitors will need to access the stadium seating via a full flight of stairs. Accessible seating is available by request.

Family and Friends

  • To maintain the health and safety of our community, each graduate will now be permitted to bring up to two guests to their ceremony (details coming soon).
  • The ceremonies will all be live-streamed, so that family and friends can watch from any location.

Dress

  • Graduates will wear their regalia.
  • To protect the field in Meade Stadium, flat soled shoes or sneakers are required. (open toe shoes are allowed but may not be comfortable because of pebbles and crumb rubber on field).
  • No spiked heels will be permitted by graduates or guests.
  • Guests will be seated in bleacher style seating, so please dress accordingly.

Weather

  • In-person ceremonies will be held rain or shine.
  • Only in the event of extreme/severe weather (such as lightning), would a ceremony be postponed.

Safety Measures

Under the guidance of the Center for Disease Control and Rhode Island Department of Health, all safety protocols will be followed:
