Syria to Lebanon to the United States – this is how Mo Shawa began his journey, and it has been a privilege to have URI College of Engineering be his latest stop. After enrolling at URI and meeting the challenge of our Wanting Engineering curriculum, Mo excelled in his studies, achieving Dean’s List the last three semesters. Not only has Mo balanced his academics with significant family and work responsibilities, he represented the University of Rhode Island at the Northeast Bioengineering Conference and will start a new position with Sequence upon graduation. Mo will cross the Commencement stage with pride and some sadness. As he says, “All journeys are bound to come to an end, but this one was worth the ride.”
