Commonly Asked Questions and Information Related to the Program and Diplomas

  • Why was my name not in in the program?  Most of the time this is due to FERPA holds. Students were required to take their FERPA holds down as of April 1 per our website. The Dean’s offices also notify students prior to April 1 of this deadline.
  • Why was my name not with distinction? The commencement program is based on information as of December 2019. Per the university catalog.
  • When will I receive my diploma?  For recent May 2020 graduates, all eligible student diplomas should be mailed by September 2020. You can check e-Campus to verify that you do not have a hold on your record that would prevent your diploma from being mailed or processing official transcripts. Please remember that official transcripts are currently available for all students and that all May 2020 degrees have now been posted to student records. Current students and alumni may request their official transcript in paper or electronic form. All requests, including those by former students, are made through e-Campus.
  • Graduation Honors for Undergraduate Students:
    • Student who complete at least 60 GPA applicable credits at the University are eligible to graduate with honors. Except for the remedial course MTH 099, and courses offered through Cambridge Education Group (CEG 101, CEG 102, CEG 103), all courses, including those utilizing second grade option, are included in the calculation of the grade point average for graduation honors.
    • The Commencement Program designates students who are eligible for honors, based on grades at the time the Program is printed, which is prior to the recording of final grades for the Spring semester, thus notations in the Program are subject to change. Final recognition of distinction for recording on the diploma and official transcripts is calculated after final grades are posted. Students would have had to have completed 60 credits by the end of December 2019.
