Additional COVID-19 Booster Vaccination Clinics Being Offered to Students

University Health Services is pleased to announce two additional Kingston Campus COVID-19 vaccination clinics for students in partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Health. COVID-19 initial series AND booster shots are available at the clinic for eligible students.

Individuals within the URI community are eligible now to receive booster shots based on guidance from the  U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Under the guidance, those ages 18 and older who received the J&J/Janssen  COVID-19 vaccine at least two months ago should get a booster shot.

Those who received the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna  COVID-19 vaccine are eligible for a booster at least six months after their second shot if they are 18 and older.

COVID-19 vaccines and booster shot  clinics  are scheduled in the Memorial Union, Atrium 2. Vaccines from all three manufacturers (J&J, Pfizer, and Moderna) are available at each  clinic. Registration is required. Please note, if you have a  COVID-19  vaccination card, please bring it to the  clinic. You must remain at the vaccination  clinic  site for 15 minutes following your vaccination/booster for observation.

URI Health Services encourages everyone to be vaccinated. To prevent the spread of  COVID-19, influenza and other infectious illnesses, we recommend that students and all URI community members continue to observe all health and safety guidelines during the final weeks of the semester, including universal mask wearing indoors while on campus and physical distancing when able, good hand/respiratory hygiene, disinfecting and sanitizing high contact surfaces often and consistently minimizing close contacts to a few people.

URI Health Services wishes everyone a healthy and successful end to the semester.

Let’s be #Rhodytogether for the remainder of the semester.
