Secure File Transfer (SFTP)

Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) is a secure protocol for transferring large files over the web. Building on File Transfer Protocol (FTP), SFTP incorporates Secure Shell (SSH) encryption to enhance security. Managed by URI’s ITS Infrastructure Server team, SFTP ensures safe and reliable file transfers for approved use cases. While most users will not need direct access to URI’s SFTP server environment, this service is a critical component of the university’s secure file management infrastructure.
