Biography

Eric Gempp joined the URI Emergency Management Department in September 2024 after a distinguished 26-year career as a Federal Agent with the U.S. Secret Service and the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service. He brings extensive expertise in security operations management, executive protection, threat and risk management, criminal investigations, and strategic planning.

With extensive experience in criminal investigations and executive protection, including safeguarding senior government officials and foreign dignitaries, Eric leverages his deep operational knowledge and hands-on experience to ensure the safety and security of university personnel and assets are protected.

Eric holds a Master’s Degree in Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI.
