As the engineering college at the public flagship research university for the state of Rhode Island, and guided by our heritage as a land- and sea-grant university, our mission is to educate, generate new knowledge, and serve society through the following core principles:

With five departments and more than 35 programs, the University of Rhode Island College of Engineering offers a broad and forward-thinking education rooted in real-world impact. Our world-renowned International Engineering Program—where students earn two degrees and spend a year abroad—prepares graduates to work across borders and cultures.

At URI, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Students engage in hands-on research, industry internships, global projects, and leadership opportunities through student organizations.
