The College of Engineering offers a variety of collaborative spaces across its three buildings — Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering (FCAE), Bliss Hall, and the Chester H. Kirk Center for Advanced Technology — where students can meet, brainstorm, study, or work on team projects. These swipe-accessible rooms range from small spaces for two to four people to larger conference-style rooms, all designed to support student success.
All rooms include whiteboards and are available to engineering students on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise reserved. Conference rooms also feature projectors or large displays for presentations and screen sharing.

Quiet Study Areas
On each floor of FCAE, students will find soft seating areas and semi-private cubicles ideal for quiet, individual study. These spaces are located near faculty offices, so students are encouraged to keep noise to a minimum.
Open Tables
The Engineering Computing Center (Kirk 203) offers open tables where students can work collaboratively or independently using their own laptops. It’s a popular space for informal teamwork, study sessions, and coding projects.
Toray Commons, located on the main floor of the Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering, also features dozens of round tables and serves as a central hub for student activity. Surrounded by glass and filled with natural light, it’s a favorite spot for studying between classes, meeting with classmates, or grabbing coffee from the on-site Starbucks. Adjacent to the Ideation and Innovation Studio and senior capstone design labs, Toray Commons is a vibrant and active space within the college. To reserve this space for events, please have a faculty or staff member contact Mike Trottier.
