The University of Rhode Island College of Engineering is proud to partner with VentureWell to host the NOAA-funded Ocean Enterprise Accelerator, a national initiative designed to help innovators bring ocean and coastal technologies to market. This program provides commercialization training, mentorship, and non-dilutive funding to help early-stage ventures advance cutting-edge solutions in areas such as sensors, robotics, coastal resilience, aquaculture, marine carbon, and water quality—closely aligned with the College’s Targeted Research Themes.
Program Benefits
- Four-stage progression serving up to 220 ventures over four years
- Stage 0 (Optional): Introductory virtual workshop covering commercialization fundamentals
- Stage 1:
- 7-week virtual training + 3-day in-person workshop hosted at URI’s Narragansett Bay Campus and CIC Providence
- $15,000 non-dilutive Technology Development & Commercialization (TDC) award
- Access to technical experts, venture mentors, and customer discovery resources
