Welcome to Your First Year in Engineering

The first year of college is exciting, challenging, and full of possibility and we’re here to help you make the most of it. At the College of Engineering, you’ll find a supportive community, hands-on learning from day one, and plenty of opportunities to explore what kind of engineer you want to become. Before classes even begin, you can get a head start with Level Up!, a free online summer math refresher designed to strengthen your calculus skills and boost your confidence.

EGR 105: Foundations of Engineering I

This first-semester seminar introduces you to the majors, careers, and mindset of engineering. You’ll work in teams on design challenges, including the unforgettable cardboard boat race, and learn how to navigate college life with purpose.
