Biography
Shaily Quiroa Gamez is originally from Providence, Rhode Island. She went to Classical High School, in which she was part of the math team, Science Olympiad, helping hand, girls’ soccer, and class president. Shaily completed the URI ESTEEMED program in 2025 and is now the Peer Mentor for the program. Shaily is currently a junior at URI majoring in Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics. In summer 2024, she participated in the RI-INBRE Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program, where she was working with Professor Stegagno in the robotics engineering lab, and is continuing research with Dr. Stegagno and Dr. Reza Abiri this year. She worked on developing a simulation for Physical Human Robot Interaction with drones. She completed an internship in summer 2025 at GE Aerospace. After completing her degree, Shaily would like to pursue her masters degree.
