Catherine Scott


Catherine Scott joined the University of Rhode Island’s marketing team in 2023. As the social media and marketing coordinator, she oversees the university’s online presence across multiple social media platforms, collaborating with the communications and marketing team, as well as various university colleges, departments, and student organizations. Additionally, she is responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies, creating engaging content, and measuring the impact of social media campaigns.

Before coming to URI, she worked as the Retail and Digital Marketing Manager for Peter Pots Pottery, a Rhode Island production pottery studio, where she successfully built and executed a strategic email and social media marketing plan that utilized brand storytelling, relational marketing techniques, and data analytics to drive business growth. She also oversaw the day-to-day operations of the retail store and e-commerce website, as well as contributed to studio work, crafting, decorating, and designing pottery.

Catherine graduated summa cum laude from URI in 2014, earning bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Gender and Women’s Studies. She was awarded the Academic Excellence Award in Philosophy and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi.
