Knight-Hennessy Scholarship offers up to 100 scholars 3-years of funding for any graduate program at Stanford University. This includes the JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MS, DMA, and PhD programs, as well as joint- and dual-degrees.
- Knight-Hennessy Scholars has no restrictions based on age, college or university, field of study, or career aspiration.
- You must apply to, be accepted by, and enroll in a full-time Stanford graduate degree program including, but not limited to, DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MPP, MS, or PhD programs.
- You must have earned, in January 2019 or later, a U.S. bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a college or university of recognized standing.

Campus Application Procedure
- For those interested in any of the prestigious post-graduate opportunities, please complete the Student Interest form or the Alumni Interest form to receive program updates;
- Attend one of the Post-Graduate Opportunities Info Sessions or view a recording to determine the opportunity(ies) right for you;
- For the Knight-Hennesy, the Campus Application Process is optional.
- If you would like a university endorsement, please complete the online application on Knight-Hennessy’s website by the campus deadline (below). Recommendations are optional by the campus deadline, as are your transcripts, but all other components must be complete.
- Once you have completed the online application materials for the campus deadline, export your application as a PDF, and send it to keegan.scott@uri.edu. Additionally, contact us for support on your application at any time in the application process.
Application Timeline
- There is no such thing as starting too early for the Knight Hennessy or other postgraduate opportunities! Begin taking challenging courses, think about ways you want to make an impact – and do those exact things – and speak with your professors about your collective interests and ideas. Start applying for other fellowships of interest and consider the many opportunities on campus;
- Attend an information session – Junior year or earlier;
- Schedule a meeting with the Office of Fellowships@URI;
- Begin crafting your narrative and application – Junior year;
- Campus Application Deadline (optional) – October 1, 2025;
- Knight Hennessy Deadline – October 8, 2025 at 1 PM PST.
