Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) Public Service Internships & Scholarships
CAPAL seeks to empower Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) young professionals by increasing access to public service opportunities and building a strong AANHPI public service pipeline. CAPAL’s Public Service Internship Program places undergraduate and graduate students within the public sector in the Washington, DC area and throughout the United States.
Council on Foreign Relations Blavatnik and Franklin Williams Internship Programs
There are opportunities based on both New York and Washington, D.C. that include focuses on Asian American studies, global policy, marketing, publication, and more. These internships ask for between fourteen to eighteen hour per week and are open for fall and spring semesters as well as during the summer. These positions are filled on a rolling basis.
The types of internships vary and students apply for them individually, meaning that students can apply for the topics that truly interest them. Most internships are looking for students with strong technology and communication skills, but exact specifications, including major preference, will vary based on the positions that students are interested in.
Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency Student Experience
The DCSA Student Experience (DSE) is a paid internship program designed to attract diverse and talented sophomores, juniors or seniors enrolled full-time in the summer of 2023 in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university. Students have an opportunity to gain marketable developmental experience in counterintelligence and insider threat, industrial security, personnel security, security training, and other DCSA core mission and support areas.
CIA Undergraduate Scholarship Program
The Undergraduate Scholarship Program is a financial needs-based initiative where students are exposed to intelligence challenges while performing meaningful work that relates to their college major. Undergraduate students, serving as scholarship recipients with CIA, attend an accredited college/university on a full-time basis and work during summer breaks at the Agency.
Amasia Fellowship
Amasia Fellowship is a paid fellowship for undergraduate students interested in climate, sustainability and venture capital. Fellows will work directly with managing partners in those area of interest. The program requires exceptional writing and research skills.
American Economics Association Summer Training and Scholarship Program
The AEA Summer Training Program and Scholarship Program seeks to increase diversity in the field of economics by preparing talented undergraduates for doctoral programs in economics and related disciplines. Students develop and solidify technical skills in preparation for the rigors of graduate studies.
American Enterprise Institute (AEI) Summer Honors Program & Academy
The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) Summer Honors Program is for high achieving (3.5 GPA minimum) students interested in the inner workings of public policy in Washington, DC. This is a fully funded one-week program learning about the inner workings of public policy in the nation’s capital. During this program’s application, students can also select the option of being selected for the AEI Summer Honors Academy, which is a five-week fully paid program in Washington, DC also focusing on public policy. Both opportunities include distinguished guest speakers and emphasize the importance of bipartisan collaboration on topics such as foreign policy, economics, and more.
