The Academy for Public Policy Analysis and Research is a unique and challenging program of skills-building, career development, and mentoring for undergraduates interested in advancing racial equity and economic justice through public policy. Our goal is to cultivate a diverse pipeline of public policy analysts and researchers to add their perspectives to the policy discourse and ultimately improve outcomes for underserved and historically exploited communities. The uniquely tailored programming provides the foundation necessary for careers at leading policy institutions.
The year-long fellowship begins with an intensive nine-week summer program in Washington, DC hosted by our think tank partner, the Urban Institute. The summer portion of our program gives students between their junior and senior year of college the skills, experience, and exposure crucial to obtaining highly competitive entry positions in the field. After students successfully complete the summer program, we follow up with continued mentoring, research conference presentation at Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management Annual Research Conference, job and graduate school counseling, and research paper publication during the final year of college.
