- URI scientist awarded Fulbright fellowship to conduct research on ‘evolution of parasitism’ in France - University of Rhode Island Professor Christopher Lane has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to spend six months at the University of Paris-Saclay in France to conduct research on the evolution of parasitism in marine organisms.
- Sociology, gender studies professor awarded Fulbright to research, teach in southern Italy - Rosaria Pisa will research changes in rural communities and teach for six months in southern Italy.
- International Engineering Program alumnus awarded Fulbright to study energy engineering in Taiwan - Zachary Smith '20, who graduated with degrees in electrical engineering, German, and Chinese, will pursue a master’s degree in at the National Cheng Kung University in Tainan City.
- URI senior awarded Fulbright fellowship to teach English, U.S. culture in Brazil - Africana Studies major Wila Matos, who studied Portuguese and mentored high school students is preparing to spend nine months in Brazil.
- URI senior awarded Fulbright to research in Slovak Republic - Political science and history major, Jay Rumas will travel to the Slovak Republic to investigate the appeal of populism among the country’s Rusyn population.
- URI advisor, advisee awarded Fulbright Fellowships to conduct research abroad - Assistant Professor Elizabeth Mendenhall will travel to Iceland to teach and research at the University of Akureyri and Eliya Baron Lopez will study South Korea’s strategies for managing marine litter.

- Five URI students awarded prestigious Fulbright grants - The students received the awards to conduct research abroad in a ranges of fields: environmental science, marine affairs, political science, and communication studies.

- URI herpetologist awarded Fulbright grant to study threatened turtle in Indonesia - Nancy Karraker has been awarded a Fulbright grant to travel to Indonesia to study declining populations of a turtle that is collected for food, traditional medicine and the pet trade, making it the most heavily traded turtle in the world.
- Fulbright scholar from Tunisia teaching Arabic at URI - The 30-year-old Kingston resident is a professor of English literature in his homeland and is working on his doctorate in English Renaissance Studies at the University of Manouba in Tunis, the country’s capital.

- URI paleontologist wins Fulbright to study dinosaur extinction in Europe - URI paleontologist , and Professor of Geosciences, David Fastovsky was awarded a Fulbright scholarship grant to study the environmental conditions that existed in Europe when the dinosaurs went extinct.
