Victoria Roberts – Ph.D., 2023

She researches methods to mitigate harmful algalblooms of Karenia brevis, also known as Florida red tide. Currently she is studying the ecological impacts of clay as a potential bloom control treatment. She aims to pursue a career in marine ecology and work towards solving global environmental issues.

Kira Allen – MS, 2022

I’ll be working as a quantitative estuarine ecologist at the South Florida Water Management District. The position involves using the District’s extensive monitoring data to develop and maintain models designed to assess the ecological condition of the Everglades.

Emma Morgan – MS, 2023
I defended my thesis, “A new tool for food web model validation: A coastal Louisiana case study” in March of 2023 and graduated with my masters degree in May 2023. I’ve accepted a position as a Water Resource Specialist with the Nantucket Department of Natural Resources in Massachusetts. I will participate heavily in water quality field sampling and monitoring water around the entire island. I will act as the primary coordinator for Nantucket’s water quality program including reporting publicly on water quality matters and providing reports online for public use. I am very thankful and excited for this new opportunity to work in monitoring and science communication!
