Biography
Hello my name is Sabrina Delva. I am majoring in biomedical engineering, class of 2022. Along with being a MARC U*STAR scholar, I am president of EMBS, secretary of BBWESTS, general members of NSBE and PINK Women, as well as an office assistant at URI’s Ram’s Den. My research interests include tissue engineering and drug delivery. After graduation, I plan to pursue a PhD in biomedical engineering.
Research
Dr. Menon’s lab concentrates particularly on drug delivery, tissue engineering, and nanomedicine. For my project, I am creating a thermoresponsive photoink for hydrogel-based cell culture. NIPAm-based microwell arrays allow for the creation of cell spheroids. This makes way for studying in vivo activity, and investigating tumor behavior, disease modeling, and drug screening.
