Biography

Born in Ireland, Dr. Comerford earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Dublin and his Ph.D. at Yale University. After a number of postdoctoral positions he joined the URI Mathematics Department in 2006. His main research interests are the dynamics associated with sequences of polynomials, certain types of thin fractal sets, and properties of certain hyperbolic geodesics in multiple connected domains. He has successfully advised two Ph.D. students and enjoys biking, meditation, classical music, and learning foreign languages.
