Accelerated B.S./M.S. Applied Math

This 5-year accelerated bachelor’s to master’s (ABM) program with a specialization in Applied Mathematics is designed for students who want to enter the program while still undergraduates and earn the M.S. degree in the year following completion of their bachelor’s degree.

Students will earn 9-12 credits towards the M.S. as an undergraduate, leaving 19-22 credits to be completed after matriculating into the graduate program. Students can double count up to 4 credits in a 500-level MTH/AMS course towards both the B.S. degree in mathematics and the M.S. degree in mathematics, applied track.

Admission Requirements

Students must have junior standing, an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, a math GPA 3.0 or higher, and complete the following courses by Fall semester of junior year:

  • MTH 141: Calculus I
  • MTH 142: Calculus II
  • MTH 243: Calculus for Functions of Several Variables
  • MTH 244: Differential Equations
  • MTH 215: Introduction to Linear Algebra
  • One 400-level course
  • One programming course
