Grace McCourt

Biography

Grace McCourt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematical Sciences at URI. She earned her Masters in Mathematics at Miami University and her PhD in Mathematics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She was a postdoc at Iowa State University before coming to URI in 2026. Grace’s research is primarily in extremal graph theory and combinatorics. She is particularly interested in hypergraph theory, Ramsey and anti-Ramsey theory, and topological methods in combinatorics. She is interested in innovative methods for teaching mathematics and greatly enjoys math outreach activities.
