Course Description:

Outside speakers, faculty and students present and discuss selected topics related to naval science and technology.

Course Goals:

  1. To provide introduction to a variety of technology-related areas of interest to the U.S. Navy
  2. To foster development of a community of students, faculty and regional Navy stakeholders
  3. To create awareness of Navy-related career opportunities for engineering students.

Course Details:

This course is a component of the academic sub-plan called “Concentration in Naval Science and Technology”. This Concentration provides opportunities for engineering undergraduates considering Navy-related careers. The course EGR 201 – Seminar in Naval Science and Technology includes presentations from invited outside speakers, faculty and students on selected topics related to Naval Science and Technology. 

Speakers typically discuss their careers in the military or defense industries, and often include information on how to apply for jobs with their companies or organizations.


Grading:

This course is graded on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory basis. Attendance is required at all regular class meetings. Up to two excused absences are allowed.
