Through school visits, our program extends its reach directly into local classrooms, running a selection of activities from our experiential learning curriculum. Led by members of the URI Navy STEM Crew, these hands on projects have been designed to spark interest in naval-related STEM fields.

The URI Navy STEM Crew is a proud partner of the SMILE Program, which works to make STEM education more accessible to students from under privileged backgrounds. The Navy STEM Crew contributes to the SMILE Program’s efforts to support local communities by inspiring students with fun and interactive demonstrations at Smile Night Events.

Similarly, members of the URI Navy Stem crew set up booths and work to encourage students to pursue navy-related STEM learning at a variety of different expo events throughout the year.
