Biography

Gail believes that relationships spark opportunity. A connector at heart, Gail has spent her career at the intersection of business, education and community.

Gail brings over three decades of expertise in corporate training, event sponsorship, sales, marketing, PR event production and business development to her role as the Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships at the University of Rhode Island’s Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI). In this role, Gail builds partnerships with corporations, businesses, non-profits, and conferences to deliver corporate training and development programs created and facilitated by OSI’s team of professional trainers. Topics include: Leadership, Communication, Conflict Resolution, Mental Health First Aid, Sales, Personal Branding, Networking, Resilience, Performance, and Positivity –  with learning experiences designed to strengthen teams, inspire growth and drive results.

Gail has served as Adjunct Faculty at URI since January, 1999 in several departments including Journalism, Public Relations and Communications. She designs and leads the career-focused Winter J-term and Summer Sessions, including trips to New York City, Connecticut and Boston. She has welcomed over 1000 students to her classroom and mentored over 100 URI students as interns – offering hands-on experience in sales, marketing and event production.

Previously, as Director of Corporate Partnerships & Community Relations for Newport Waterfront Events and Newport Harbor Corporation (now Newport Restaurant Group), Gail led teams producing of over 2000 events on the Newport, RI waterfront including the iconic Newport International Boat Show, ESPN X Games, Newport Sunset Music Series (over 150 concerts including Train, Bare Naked Ladies, B52’s, Jason Mraz) in addition to festivals, weddings, meetings, trade shows and a waterfront skating rink

Gail is the author of Your Someday is NOW: What are YOU Waiting For?, a business and personal development book that has raised over $55,000 for nonprofit organizations. She is also a national and international keynote speaker, radio show host, and dedicated community leader serving on boards since she was 25 years old. She currently serves on the boards of the Newport Hospital Foundation, Newport Chamber of Commerce, NSA New England and is a member of Impact 100 Newport County and the URI Women’s Leadership. She served on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  board for over 20 years and Discover Newport Board for a decade!

Since the age of 19, Gail has volunteered in both Haiti and the United States with her family’s non-profit – the Haitian Health Foundation (HHF), which provides healthcare to over 200,000 Haitians annually in Jeremie, Haiti, reflecting her lifelong commitment to service, leadership and community impact.
