Biography

Richard A. Bock worked for the National Labor Relations Board for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2025 as the head of its Division of Advice, where he advised three NLRB General Counsels and all 26 Regional offices on complex issues arising in unfair labor practice cases. Now an arbitrator, he serves as First Vice President and neutral board member for Maryland LERA, and as an Associate Editor for both Developing Labor Law and How Arbitration Works (Elkouri & Elkouri). He is a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Bock lives in Maryland with his wife, novelist Caroline Bock. They have two adult children.
