State Approved Training Program in Drug Administration
Eligibility:
- You must have a high school diploma or GED.
- You must be a licensed CNA with active status.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be currently employed in a State of RI Dept of Health Licensed Nursing Home / Assisted Living /Adult Day Care or Rehab Facility.
- You must have provided your state licensed employment facility with proof of legal residence if you are a non-US Citizen.
If you are employed through a hospital or agency, you are NOT ELIGIBLE to enroll in this class.
Class & Licensure Requirements:
- You are required to attend each class that meets in person (Wednesday, 6:00PM – 9:00PM).
- To receive State licensure, you are REQUIRED to complete 45 hours of instruction (15 weeks).
- You must attain an average grade of 70 to PASS the class.
- For RI DOH licensure, you must complete a practicum that is included in the course work AND successfully finish 3 observed med passes at your current facility within TWO months after passing the course.
ONE YEAR time frame:
- to successfully complete the course,
- to successfully complete your three observed med passes, and
- to submit all paperwork to obtain RI DOH licensure.
