Biography
Alvin R. Wilson, Jr., Esq. is a West Hartford-based arbitrator and mediator with experience presiding over labor, employment and civil rights disputes. Mr. Wilson has handled a range of matters including law enforcement arbitration, discipline and discharge, contract interpretation and employment discrimination cases.
Mr. Wilson has extensive practical experience, having served as Connecticut’s Chief Human Rights Referee (ALJ) from 2011 to 2014, presiding over employment discrimination cases. He is co-author of “Key Issues in Law Enforcement Arbitration,” Chapter 51 in Labor and Employment Arbitration (LexisNexis, Bornstein, Gosline, Greenbaum and Mayberry, General Editors, 2023).
Mr. Wilson has a regional and national practice and conducts hearings via the AAA Labor Panel, FMCS Roster, Labor Relations Connection Roster, the Connecticut State Board of Mediation and Arbitration, the Connecticut Employees’ Review Board, and the USPS/NALC Panel (serving Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine) and USPS/APWU Panel (serving New York and Connecticut).
Mr. Wilson holds a BA in Economics from Princeton University and a JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Outside of his practice, he enjoys gardening, aikido, jazz trios and his new hip.
