Labor and Employment

Haydeé is an accomplished attorney and a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators with over 30 years of experience in labor-management relations. She specializes exclusively in labor and employment arbitration, bringing substantial expertise in both the private and public sectors. Her practice covers a wide range of issues, including contract interpretation and application, discharge and disciplinary actions, competence, discrimination, and management rights. Additionally, she has experience in sports anti-doping arbitration.

As a bilingual arbitrator (Spanish/English), Haydeé has worked with diverse workforces across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In 2006, after serving over 14 years as an attorney at the National Labor Relations Board (Region 29), Haydeé joined the New York City Department of Education, Office of Labor Relations, where she represented the agency in legal and labor relations matters concerning collective bargaining agreements affecting approximately 135,000 employees.

Haydeé also serves as a permanent arbitrator on numerous panels, including:

Haydeé is also the Chair of the Program Committee of the Ray Corollary Initiative, Inc.™ (“RCI”), a nonprofit organization committed to promoting the full utilization of talent in the ADR field by increasing the inclusion of diverse neutrals in the selection of arbitrators, mediators, and other ADR professionals.

Born and raised in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, Haydeé is a member of the New York State Bar, First Department. She holds a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from CUNY Law School.
