Biography

James Cooper has worked since 1980 as an arbitrator and mediator in labor-management relations. This followed a five-year stint as Chairman of the Massachusetts Labor Relations Commission (now re-configured and known as the
Department of Labor Relations). In addition to serving as chair of the committee creating the content of this conference, I volunteer as the Managing Editor of the
National Academy of Arbitrators’ semi-annual publication The Chronicle. I solicit ideas and volunteers for this conference and the magazine.
