Program Overview
Designed and delivered in collaboration with leaders and providers across the URI campus, this course is intended for all clients who are looking to enhance awareness, reduce stigma, and support colleagues in managing mental health issues. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) offers transferable skills that generalize to adults (18+) both inside and outside of the workplace.
MHFA is a comprehensive, skills-based training program that equips participants with the tools to support colleagues experiencing mental health challenges. Through structured learning and role-playing, participants learn to recognize signs of mental health distress, provide initial support, and guide individuals to appropriate resources. This program builds a culture of understanding, ensuring that employees feel supported and valued.

Customization and Flexibility
MHFA can be offered in various formats to accommodate different schedules and company sizes, with flexibility in timing for both in-person and virtual formats.
Program Implementation
- Self-Paced Component: Two-hour online session.
- Live Session: A follow-up session can be conducted either in person or virtually, according to client preferences.
- Group Size: Ideal for 10-30 participants, and designed to support anyone who is 18 years of age or older, the program fosters a collaborative and interactive learning experience.
