What motivates you to be visible on campus?

I want each and every student to feel like they have a safe place in my class or in my office, to be who they are. I also have family members who are LGBTQ. In my day-to-day and course teaching methods, it’s the small things that I do to make sure students and members of my community and family feel like I honor who they are, in all of their identities.
