Identity: Ally

What motivates you to be visible on campus?

Justice! And the chance for individuals to be utterly themselves. LGBTQ equity sits firmly at the center of my personal and professional priorities.

On a personal level, I am the niece of an uncle who forged a life of dignity in the age before Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell; my uncle and his partner were among those who turned Boston’s South End into a thriving gay community. And as a philosopher, I focus in teaching and in writing on issues surrounding existential identity, values, and authenticity, as well as ethics and equity.
