What motivates you to be visible on campus?

No one should feel alone – I never met or knew a professor in the LGBTQIA+ community until I started graduate school. I worked with an LGBTQIA+ professor for the first time in my postdoctoral scholar experience. Being Out, Visible, and an Ally are part of my ethos of being a support person for students and helping dismantle ideas about “who” can be in academia, “who” can be successful in STEM, etc.
