What motivates you to be visible on campus?

I am motivated each and every day by the intellect, courage, and resilience of my students, many of whom continue to face oppression and ignorance in their daily personal and academic lives.

I have been a lifelong activist for the LGBTQ community, from community activism for HIV education, awareness, and prevention access; to political activism for queer+ rights in the workplace and government; to my offered courses on Power and Privilege in Health Care; Intersectional Privilege and Inequality in Death, Dying, and Bereavement; Contemporary Understandings of Suicide; Losses of Addiction; and AIDS in America: Refocusing on a Crisis.
