The College of Health Sciences Processing and Acquisition of Language in Multilinguals (PALM) Laboratory at the University of Rhode Island is led by Dr. Alisa Baron. We work to better understand first, second, and dual language and literacy development across the lifespan focusing on linguistic and neurocognitive processes. We use a variety of methods (e.g., behavioral, eye tracking, electroencephalography (EEG), functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS)) to explore these processes in both neurotypical and language-disordered populations.
