Dan Caron

Mr. Caron has over 30-years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry demonstrating proficiency steering business and global operations from start-up through full commercial integration. He has overseen facilities in 30+ countries and has created and managed a broad spectrum of divisions including construction, laboratory management, procurement, global security, environmental health and safety, lease administration, sustainability and philanthropy.

Dan started his career as a research scientist and bioengineer developing cancer therapeutics and recently completed a 24-year tenure at Alexion Pharmaceuticals where he was a founding team member. Dan was instrumental in growing operations to accommodate Alexion’s staggering growth from startup through IPO to fully integrated global commercial entity. Dan was responsible for the design, construction and management of their first GMP manufacturing facility in New Haven, CT. Most recently, Dan is the cofounder and CEO of Protos Biologics Inc, a gene therapy start-up focused on addressing unmet medical needs. Dan earned a Master of Science in Bioengineering from Polytechnic University and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Adelphi University.
