Research

Dr. Clarkin research focuses primarily on impact of exercise and physical activity on function and quality of life in populations living with neurologic and neurodegenerative disease.

She is interested in understanding the underlying neural correlates driving neuroplasticity in these populations and harnessing those principles to inform clinical practice, 

She believes strongly in interprofessional, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research and therefore has pursued a variety of projects related to neuroplasticity and neurodegenerative disease, specifically, Parkinson’s disease.

which will contribute to the improvement and expansion of our community program as well as work force development of PT students within this patient population.
