Donation Program

PTAA, Local 2877, has the vision that we should give back to society. We are attempting to achieve that vision by donating to several non-profit organizations throughout the year.

Distribution  methods
1.  Each calendar year a $500 pool is available to support member activities such as but not limited to bike-a-thons, walk-a-thons, and marathons to support their non-profit organization. On a first-come, first-serve basis a member will get a one-time donation of $50.00 in the name of the non-profit organization until the $500 pool is exhausted. Any part of the $500 donation that has not been disbursed by December 1st of any given year shall be converted to an additional charity drawing to a human service, non-profit organization. The drawing for this charity will take place at the December membership meeting.

2.  Four times a year, in March, July, September and December, the Donation Committee will make a $100.00 to a human service, non-profit organization. Each attending member will have the opportunity to enter the name of their non-profit organization for a drawing at the general membership meeting.

3.  Two times a year, two special $200.00 drawings will be held to help out local human service, non-profit organizations during the holiday season, one drawing each in November (Providence area) and December (South County area). The organizations to be entered in these drawings shall be known to help people during the holiday and/or winter season. Each attending member will have the opportunity to enter the name of their human service, non-profit organization for a drawing at the general membership meeting.

Management
The PTAA Executive Board administers all aspects of the PTAA donation plan including but not limited to reporting distribution(s) at Membership meetings and to handling all drawings as listed above.
Membership approves this plan and any alterations thereto with majority vote as an agenda item on a regular membership meeting.
