Biography
Stacy Jones has recently joined RIDE as a district support fellow in the Office of School and District Improvement. Prior to joining RIDE, Ms. Jones taught English for 15 years at W. M. Davies Career and Technical High School in Lincoln, RI, where she served as the school’s Diversity Committee Chair, English department coordinator and secured in support of students and staff: a two-year, $10,000.00 SEL Innovation Fund award and a $57,730.00 Rhode Island Foundation grant. Beyond Davies, Ms. Jones co-facilitated a panel discussion at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education 2016 Alumni of Color Conference. The panel, entitled Leaning Into The Discomfort of Diversity: Real Actions Necessary for Real Reforms, focused on how current recruitment and hiring practices in public school districts contribute to the lack of diversity among educational staff. She has also published an op-ed in Education Post titled, “If You’re Serious About Equity, Prove It by Including Leaders of Color at Your School.”
Ms. Jones earned an Ed.M in School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, an MAT in secondary education from Clark University and an M.A. in Journalism from New York University.
