Multiple fully-funded graduate research and undergraduate research positions available from the Next Generation Sensing Technology (NEXT) Lab in Electrical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island (URI)
Our group of engineering researchers incorporate cutting-edge advances in RF/optical sensing devices and embedded heterogeneous System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms (ARM, FPGA, etc.) into novel sensor technologies that address critical problems in science and industry.
Our group is currently well funded. Research projects include LiDAR sensing, distributed sensing, and hardware security technologies all towards future smart city applications. Knowledge/skills you will gain include, but not limited to, system/PCB-level RF/optical design, digital design, software-hardware co-design), signal/power integrity, etc.
Our graduates had excellent job placements along with outstanding publication records.
All graduate-level positions are fully funded through research assistantship (RA) including tuition waiver and stipend (~ $2,100 per month).
University of Rhode Island (URI) is located in southern New England by the Atlantic Ocean. It is about one and half hour driving distance away from Boston and three hours away from New York City. The campus is surrounded by over 40 public beaches. The state of Rhode Island is well known for its long coastal line and great seafood.
Requirements:
1) BS or MS (or working towards BS or MS degree) in EE/CpE/ME/physics or related areas.
2) Knowledge in PCB design or/and embedded systems (FPGA and/or MCU) is preferred.
3) Minimum TOEFL requirement is 80 by graduate school for all international students. There is no minimum GRE requirement!
If interested, send your CV and transcripts (standard test results are not required to initiate communication) to tao_wei@uri.edu.
