Alisha Cipriano Cox, B.S.

Biography

Alisha joined the University of Rhode Island in 2015 as the Business Manager for the Department of Housing and Residential Life (HRL). In this role, Alisha completed a centralized reorganization of the Business Office to optimize operational efficiency in support of financial management functions including payroll, personnel, payable and receivables.

In 2017, Alisha was promoted to Associate Director of Business Operations for HRL and assumed oversight of occupancy management and billing for undergraduate and graduate students. Alisha and her team are proud to have established and implemented process improvements in the areas of budgeting, actual reporting, and capital tracking. Primary accomplishments include the implementation of an automated billing and receivable system for graduate housing, implementation of standardized divisional & departmental procedures as well as the development of comprehensive reconcilement standards.

In 2020, Alisha assumed support responsibilities for the Division of Student Affairs as it pertained to consolidated forecasting and reporting for auxiliaries. In addition to Housing, Alisha also assists in the budget development for Dining Services and Health Services; with a total combined revenue base of more than $95MM. Alisha managed a team of 6 professional staff members prior to being named Interim Director of Housing and Residential Life in the Spring of 2023.

Prior to coming to work for the University of Rhode Island, Alisha spent nearly 15 years in finance, predominately at Bank of America and RBS Citizens with experience in budgeting and forecasting, benchmarking, regulatory reporting, fiduciary control implementation, CCAR, as well as profitability and margin analysis.

Alisha graduated from the University of Rhode Island and holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
