Biography

Rosa Ciunci is an Admission Advisor in Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Rhode Island. She began her academic journey at Johnson & Wales University, where she earned her degree in Business and Hospitality. After graduating, she built professional experience working in Human Resources at Marriott before transitioning into higher education. She first worked in admissions at the Yale School of Management and later joined URI, where she now supports prospective students through the admissions process. Rosa’s journey is shaped by resilience and adaptability. She immigrated to the United States at the age of four without speaking English and quickly took on the role of translator for her family as she learned the language. This experience deeply informs her commitment to helping students navigate complex systems and find their voice. As a mentor, Rosa is passionate about supporting students throughout their college journey and encouraging them to seek help when needed. She reminds students that there are many people ready to support them and reassures them with the message: “You are braver than you think.”
