Biography

Jennifer Hill is an IT Endpoint Support Technician in Information Technology Services (ITS) within the University of Rhode Island College of Nursing. Jennifer began her higher education journey as a part-time community college student before stepping away to earn an IT certificate that led to her first role in the field. She later built on that certification and her growing professional experience to secure a position at a local university, where she balanced full-time work with part-time coursework completed during her lunch breaks. Her path to completing her bachelor’s degree was nontraditional and gradual, but it ultimately supported her progression into her current role at URI, where a degree is required. Jennifer is passionate about helping students recognize that meaningful guidance and encouragement can come from many sources. She credits mentorship and openness to support as key factors in helping her define her academic path, navigate degree requirements, and explore new career possibilities. She encourages students to remember that there is no single path to success, especially for those who may not have a clearly defined roadmap, and emphasizes that it is always okay to change direction, pivot, and grow along the way.
