Biography

Tom has more than 25 years of experience in university housing and Student Affairs. Before joining URI, he served as Executive Director of Housing and Space Planning at Carnegie Mellon University, where he led the development of a comprehensive housing master plan. He also held leadership roles at the University of Illinois Chicago, overseeing administrative operations, IT, business, and assessment.

At URI, Tom is dedicated to enhancing the student experience by leading a team committed to providing high-quality, affordable campus housing and dining that support students’ academic and personal growth.

Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Becker College and his master’s degree in education from Cleveland State University. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his three children, two dogs, and wife — whether at the grill or along one of Rhode Island’s many beaches.
