Biography

Tom comes to URI and brings more than 20 years of experience in university housing. Tom comes from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was the Executive Director of Housing and Space Planning. While at Carnegie Mellon University, he  provided strategic vision and leadership to develop a housing master plan. Before his work at Carnegie Mellon, Tom was the Associate Director of Administration at the
University of Illinois Chicago, where he was responsible for leadership of administrative functions, including business operations, information technology, and assessment.

Tom is very passionate about university housing and its transformative power. He firmly believes in our mission to deliver well-maintained accommodations and provide access to quality and affordable campus housing while supporting our students’ educational and developmental needs. His primary role is to support each student’s lived experience by leading an excellent team of housing and residential life
experts.

Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Becker College in Worcester, Massachusetts, and his master’s degree in education from Cleveland  State University.

Tom is a proud father of three and has two dogs, Quigley (Goldendoodle) and Gronk (English Mastiff). Tom loves spending his free time with his kids at their hobbies, smoking meat on the BBQ with his dogs, or riding his e-bike with his wife.
